Each year at General Conference, Ladies Ministries UPCI honors a woman for distinguished service to the kingdom of God. In October 2024, Bobbie Shoemake received the “Legacy of Faith Award.”

Singing has been integral to Bobbie Shoemake’s life since early childhood. Her ministry began when she joined her mother and father singing in church when she was about four years old. Whether ministering to congregations numbering a few people to many thousands in the United States or abroad, her lifelong passion for worship is demonstrated in each song.

Bobbie Shoemake’s recordings have blessed many thousands of listeners. Her discography includes ten studio projects and several collaborative live and studio recordings. As a young artist, Bobbie declined the opportunity to sign with Capitol Records (country music division) because of her love for God, ministry, and worship. She is a prolific songwriter, and her songs, including “I’ll Keep Holding On To Jesus” and “The Race,” have been recorded by various gospel singers and groups.

An anointed singer/psalmist and speaker, Bobbie Shoemake continues to lead worshipers into the presence of God wherever she ministers. She resides in San Jose, California, with her husband, Jimmy Shoemake. The Shoemakes are active in ministry and in the continuing success of First Church San Jose, where they pastored for twenty-five years.
